Bike Computer
Personal Project / Industrial Design Study / January 2021
During the pandemic, I focused more on cycling. How far could I go? Organizing long rides, route planning, navigation. It spurred the idea of what I think a bike computer could be like. Simple and built for the passion of the adventure it could lead on two wheels. Machined-aluminum housing to a glass surface surrounded by a knurled surface for grip. A single button on the side turns on the elegant and clever UI that shows what you need and only that, plus seamless integration to a bike mount. Finally, a USB-C port with a silicone cover for charging. I aimed to bring a concept that brought the finesse of the latest tech hardware with the reliability of a mountaineer’s watch. This was a practice of thought to concept, spanning over the course of roughly ten hours across multiple days.
